VCU Clark-Hill Institute for Positive Youth Development
The VCU Clark-Hill Institute for Positive Youth Development, under the direction of Albert Farrell, Ph.D., is part of the Department of Psychology and is located on the Monroe Park Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. The Institute is one of ten National Academic Centers of Excellence for Youth Violence Prevention funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. VCU departments of Psychology, Government & Public Affairs, Psychiatry, Epidemiology & Community Health are represented in the Institute. VCU’s Office of Community Programs provides technical assistance and logistical support for faculty and student engagement in the community and creates opportunities for multidisciplinary community-based collaborations that integrate research, teaching, and service. It also administers VCU Community Solutions - a university-wide social sciences and health initiative aimed at increasing responsiveness to community needs by encouraging faculty and students to work with local citizens and organizations on issues selected as priorities by the community.
