Communication & Dissemination

Communication and Dissemination is one branch of the Institute that focuses on sharing information about positive youth development and strategies to prevent youth violence with stakeholders who have an interest in improving the lives of young people and their families. Stakeholders are individuals and groups and include young people and their families, community partners (e.g. school systems), professionals working with youth (e.g. clinicians), research participants, citizens and policy makers. The strategy for communication and dissemination is a four-stage process including community consultation, feedback, evaluation and product refinement. Goals of this branch of the Institute are to: enable stakeholders to access, understand and utilize research; engage stakeholders in collaborations; increase knowledge of relevant research findings; and inform the public of the activities of the Institute.
