As Director of Operations, I assist the Institute Director with the day-to-day operations and management of the Institute. As Director of Research Operations, I serve as a consultant to investigators and co-investigators submitting grants through the Institute. I provide input on feasibility, budget, staffing, and human subjects protection related to intervention and assessment activities for proposed projects. I also supervise the implementation of funded research projects.

I have been involved in research on adolescence and youth violence prevention at VCU for the past 15 years. I have extensive experience coordinating research studies, including longitudinal and multi-site projects. I am very interested in promoting the healthy development of adolescents, and as a parent myself, I understand what an enormous and challenging undertaking it is to rear children. I believe that parents and youth benefit from effective programs that support this undertaking and hope that the work of the Institute is a valuable resource for improving the lives of youth and families.
